Introduction

Populus Live is an online survey panel by Populus, which is a UK-based market research company. It provides intelligent data and notes on three major industries. These are culture, politics, and business. They began in 2003, which makes the company a young one by industry standards. It already has a presence in more than 70 countries.

Registration

Although Populus Live covers 75 countries, the survey panel is available for the UK residents only. It is also meant for those who are 16 years old and above.

When it comes to the registration process, it’s standard. You need to give your full name, email address, date of birth, and gender. To make sure you are indeed in the UK, you need to provide a legitimate postal code.

After that, you need to answer a series of questions, which you can skip, although this is not advisable since they are the bases for matching you with the surveys.

The privacy policy of the website is clear. From the get-go, it informs you that it collects cookies. Although it obtains information, it doesn’t share personally identifiable data to their clients. Instead, they pool all the answers and get the average scores.

Earning Methods

There are two ways to earn money on the website: surveys and prize draws. For the surveys, the website uses a point system, although each point is equivalent to a pound. Only those who get screened out for a valid reason can participate in the prize draws, which it holds every second Monday of the month.

Survey Quality

Most users commend the quality of the surveys. The questions are well thought out, and their complexity and length can vary. But the rejection rate is pretty high because of the strict quality checks it implements. It’s possible to complete the survey and not receive any for failing to follow these standards.

The surveys can be as short as five minutes or as long as a month. The latter may mean you need to complete the survey by stages. You will not receive any compensation until you have completed the survey. This can be problematic when you’ve already spent hours on it.

In general, you will receive survey invitations through the email. You may get 1 to 5 of them every week, which isn’t a lot. Some may have four in a day, but that’s not often. It is an issue because of the high disqualification rate.

Rewards

Populus Live has one of the highest rates for paid surveys. It pays £1 for 5 minutes, which is the average time spent on completing the questions. As expected, the amount you receive will go up as the surveys become challenging and long.

It is also prompt in its payout. It allows you to cash out once you already reach £50, which you may get within two weeks. This amount is equivalent to 50 points. From hereafter, you can withdraw money for every 50 points you make. So if you earn £55 today, you will receive only £50 on the next payment date. You wait until you can add £47 more to your account.

The company only sends checks, which can be a hassle. It may also take two weeks to receive the payment.

Prize draws don’t reward much, but £250 is already a good amount.

Conclusion

Populus Live is a survey website that doesn’t live on bells and whistles. It is straightforward and aims for quality regarding the survey themselves and the rewards they provide to their members.
