Introduction

InboxDollars is perhaps one of the more popular paid survey sites that’s available both online and in a convenient little app for your mobile devices. The paid survey site itself has an excellent reputation among other online money-making sites and has reportedly paid out more than $30 million since 2006.

Registration

Like most paid survey sites, InboxDollars makes its registration or sign-up process as easy as possible. Regardless of whether you’re accessing the site via your browser or on the InboxDollars app you’ve just downloaded, all you need to do to sign up is to give your email address and input a password of your choice, head over to your email’s inbox confirm your email address, and then it’s straight off to answering a series of pretty in-depth questions where the site will use to start building your profile.

This part of the registration process can be quite bothersome since it may take you 15 to 20 minutes to completely fill up but know that this is crucial since it’s related to how many surveys you’ll be offered. The more info you provide, the better the site works and you’ll benefit by getting survey invites that you actually qualify for. Not to mention, InboxDollars knows how difficult that may be and offers you a nice sign-up bonus of $5 (in cash!) after you’ve completed your profile.

If you hit a snag anywhere, the site also provides helpful and short tutorial videos to guide you along. Oh, and during sign, make sure to disable the default opt-in feature, “PaidMail”. This feature is supposed to present you with 3 daily earning opportunities by sending an email directly into your email’s inbox, but since the site has its own inbox system, it might be best to just opt-out and simply check your emails via the InboxDollar site or app. By opting out, you won’t be missing out on any extra earning opportunities and you’ll get to prevent your email inbox from being filled up with extra emails that you don’t need.

Earning Methods

InboxDollars offers a wide range of ways for you to earn some extra cash. Aside from completing paid surveys, you can also watch videos on InboxDollars TV. The videos you’ll get to watch on this special TV in exchange for a cent or 2, or a scratch card. The videos aren’t just only ads; Sometimes, you’ll actually get a few minute videos that will, for instance, teach you something. Best yet, since the videos are grouped based on categories, you can simply choose the categories you’re most interested in and start binge watching! If you’re a fan of learning new stuff or mindlessly surf YouTube, this is the best way for you to earn some money.

You can even read emails or use InboxDollars’ in-app or on-site search engine to look up some random terms. Do that and you’ll earn 1 cent and free sweeps (more on this in the Rewards section).

If you’re using the InboxDollars app, you can also download apps and play games to earn some extra cash. However, do take note that some apps may require you to reach a certain level in the game before you can claim your payout. Note that although most of these are legit, you might be better off avoiding apps that look shady (Asks for a lot of unrelated permissions, for example) as some users have reported getting viruses.

What I really like about InboxDollars though is that it also rewards you by shopping online or signing up for products and services. This is a really swell feature because there are tons of offers available and you can earn some extra money simply by purchasing stuff that you already plan on buying.

For instance, if you’re a huge fan of Groupon’s coupons, by purchasing the coupons you want through InboxDollars, you will actually get some form of cash back per coupon you buy. The same goes for signing up for loyalty cards like Target’s REDcard. You can get a sweet $3 free if you sign up via InboxDollar. Of course, the best yet is definitely the free samples that you can apply for. Imagine! – you can get paid for signing up for free stuff… how amazing is that?

Survey Quality

Now, being a paid survey site, the bread and butter of InboxDollars are still its surveys. However, to our surprise, we find that we’ve enjoyed completing their other offers, especially the video ones, a lot more than completing surveys.

Most surveys on the site or app don’t really pay well. It’s pretty often to find a payout as low as $0.50 for a 30-min survey; though if you’re really lucky and qualify for those higher-paying ones, you can find some that pays $0.25 per 10 mins or even $5 per survey. Quick note though – some users have mentioned that the estimated time on a survey is often underestimated. You may end up using more time completing a survey than the site “predicted”

Talking about qualifying for a survey, many users of InboxDollars do have a bone to pick with the site when it comes to completing tons of questions only to eventually find out that they do not qualify for that particular survey. This little problem even applies to surveys that they supposedly have filtered through and suggested to you on your dashboard. If you do want to take surveys, expect to spend a lot more time trying to qualify for one than actually completing a survey.

Some surveys even have a per-day limit, preventing you from taking multiple offers from the same survey company in a day. One more thing – InboxDollars has a warning which states that they will penalize any user who provides false answers in their surveys. The penalty comes in the form of a greatly reduced number of surveys you can qualify for. However, it’s not apparent how they can find out if you do decide to BS your answers just so you can do more surveys.

Rewards

One of the biggest selling points that InboxDollars touts around is that they mainly payout in cold, hard cash. This is very unlike other sites which give you points (usually very low in value) in exchange for your services and you can only cash out in the form of gift cards when you have accumulated thousands and thousands of points. Well, you won’t find any of that nonsense here on InboxDollars!

The site lets you know straight up that your payout minimum is set at $30, but you can get your transaction fees of $3 waived if you wait until $40 to cash out. There used to be a monthly limit, but now you can cash out weekly. Naturally, like most paid survey sites, you will need to have the patience to accumulate enough cash to do so and it really all boils down to how much time you are willing to spend on the site or app.

Not to mention, although InboxDollars provide cash as rewards for the majority of its offers, you’ll sometimes get free sweeps or scratch cards. Sweeps are free draws that you get for the site’s sweepstake events, which will put you in the running to get a nice $25 grand prize. Expect plenty of competition though.

For scratch cards, the chances of winning something is much higher since you’ll only need to get 3 matching tokens out of the 6 on the card you scratch. However, the cash prizes are quite low in comparison to the sweepstakes – the best you can win is a tenner ($10).

The site also offers a spin-the-wheel betting game where you can use the money you’ve earned to participate. Most users report that it’s insanely hard to win any cash prizes through this method though, so you might want to hang on to your money instead of playing this cash game.

Last but not least, you simply must follow InboxDollars on its many social media channels. Why, you may wonder? Well, they often put out free WinIt codes (they are like gift codes) on these channels. You can then copy and paste these codes into your WinIt box to redeem your free prize! The prizes usually contain free sweepstake tickets.

Highlights

Inbox Dollars has a referral program in addition to all the other earning methods available. Simply make sure your referrals sign up using your referral link and you’ll get 10% of all of their qualified earnings. There is no limit on the number of referrals you can have.

Conclusion

So, to sum up, InboxDollars is definitely a legitimate paid survey site and has paid out plenty to its users. Although trying to qualify for an actual survey can be incredibly frustrating, we really like that the site is forthright about many of the important parts of its operations, making it a lot easier to trust the site.

Not to mention, earning cash via a paid survey site is always better than earning points any day. After all, it’s more motivating to know that you’re actually getting as you’re working to earn the cash. However, note that this is not a site where you can earn enough to quit your day job. You probably won’t earn enough to supplement your income but it’s nice to have some extra money for that occasional food/alcohol splurge or to get some extra cash in return for signing up for free samples.
