Introduction
Established by InSites Consulting, an international market research agency that has worked with companies like Unilever, Danone, Vodafone and eBay, Future Talkers is a consumer research panel that provides its participants with a wide range of research studies in which they can get paid to provide some information for. The site caters to a global consumer market so you can join regardless of where you live in the world. You must be at least 16 years old to sign up.
Registration
Like most paid survey sites, signing up is incredibly simple (and free) on Future Talkers. All you need to provide is your email address and some extra information like your residing country, confirm your registration via the confirmation email sent to your inbox and you’re in!
Of course, if you want to actually get any surveys to do though, you’ll need to fill up your profile with as much information as you can. The profile info you need to provide is separated into different categories, ranging from occupation and healthcare to hobbies and travel habits. Due to this, they can be pretty in-depth and may take you around 30 minutes to complete.
There’s also an extra opt-in feature that you can sign-up for on Future Talkers – you can become a Super Talker. The sign-up if completely free and is as simple as clicking on a link. By being a Super Talker, you supposedly will get more survey invitations – once per day as opposed to once a fortnight or month. Considering the Future Talkers is a paid survey site that operates mainly through sending out invitational surveys, you might want to opt into this special program.
Earning Methods
Unlike other established paid survey sites which function more like a “Jack of all Trades”, Future Talkers specialize in market research and as such, you’ll only get market research-related surveys to do, which includes webcam-based surveys, interview surveys or discussions-based surveys, and the occasional product testing, in addition the usual questionnaires.
Through the Research section on your profile, you can also let the site know which type of surveys you’re more willing to accept
Survey Quality
As mentioned before, every survey that Future Talkers offers is invitational only, so you simply need to wait to be invited after signing up and filling up your profile. The payout rate changes depending on the surveys you get, of course, but since most of their surveys are the long-term sort, it’s fair to say that you’ll be earning more per survey than “usual”.
However, if you are to look at the number of surveys provided, you’ll quickly realize that this site doesn’t exactly have a lot of surveys for you to do and hence, earning enough to make the payout can take quite some time… more time than most, we’d venture to say.
That being said, Future Talkers is transparent in its operations and puts all the information you’ll need regarding to the survey you are offered out in the open so you’d know what to expect, such as how much time you’ll need and how you’ll be rewarded. The site also has a nice tracking system in place, since most of their surveys are pretty long-term, so you’d know which panels you’re currently on and which panels you’ve done in the past.
Rewards
Now, Future Talkers is very different from other cash or points-based sites because their rewards vary depending on the survey in question. However, most of the time, you’ll end up getting cash rewards (can be in your local currency or in USD), which can then be withdrawn to your PayPal account (or other alternative digital wallet), rather than products or vouchers.
There’s a minimum payout in place but this value varies, oddly enough, depending on which country you reside in. The site provides a comprehensive table with all the countries and minimum payouts for you to refer to. However, it is unsure whether a transaction fee will be charged, but from our experience with PayPal, they will most probably take a cut of a few percent from your total amount.
Interestingly, you can earn badges for participating and reaching certain milestones on the site, but these don’t come with rewards and hence, are mainly there for collection purposes only.
Highlights
The site doesn’t seem to have a lot other stuff going for it. Having said that, it does have a nice little “personality test”-like quiz where you can then find out what type of Future Talker you are. We’re unsure whether the results of this quiz will affect how many surveys you’ll get.
Conclusion
Future Talkers does seem to be backed by a legit international market research agency and is trustworthy enough to be relied on to follow through on its payments. However, unlike many other survey sites where you can feel like you’re doing a lot more, the surveys this site has to offer are more of the long-term sort, so you may end up being on a survey panel for a lot longer than just simply filling up a questionnaire.
